Application invited for Kangra Art Fellowship Programme 2015

Kangra Arts Promotion Society invites applications from motivated and talented students to learn Kangra Paintings.

Selection Procedure Written aptitude test to be conducted by the society.

Fellowship of Rs 2000 per month to be offered during the first year of the programme. After successful completion of the Fellowship, few candidates will be offered to stay with the organization and practice Kangra Paintings. For others KAPS will try to find suitable market for their art. 

Procedure for Registration:

  • Download and print out the Application Form
  • Affix recent passport size photograph.
  • Post the application form at the following address or deliver direct by hand at our address of correspondence given below.

Date of Examination   Will be notified to selected candidates.

Kangra Arts Promotion Society (KAPS) is an NGO working for the revival of arts of the greater Kangra region which comprises the current district of Kangra and surrounding areas. The purpose of KAPS is to ensure the tradition of Kangra paintings and other arts passes to the future generations.

KAPS is organizing seminars and workshops in various institutions for promotion of this form of art. They are also in the process of making a documentary film about the Kangra miniature paintings, materials used to make them and steps making of paintings, etc.

KAPS is the nodal agency to acquire a  Geographical Indicator (GI) for Kangra miniatures and has been authorized to certify Kangra Paintings on authenticity under the Geographical Indications Goods (Registration and Protection) Act1999.
