Kangra Arts Exhibition

On Saturday, 13 July 2019, Kangra Art Promotion Society (KAPS) organized an exhibition at McLeodGanj, Dharamsala. This program was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Guest – Mr. Rakesh Prajapati, DC Kangra. This exhibition was a 3-day program and ended on July 15, 2019.A few more honorable guests were present during this event. Shri Raghav Guleria (a well known journalist and writer) introduced everyone from the history of Kangra Miniature Paintings and presented various interesting facts about the popularity and success of Kangra and Guler paintings. KAPS  was also honored to have Dr. Gautam Vyaathit along with them. Mr. Vyathit is a professor of art and literature, and made special mention on many topics during this event. He emphasized on topics like history of arts, how socio- cultural issues create an impact on art and the uniqueness of Pahari/ Kangra paintings. During this discussion, Honorable Chief Guest Mr. Rakesh Prajapati concluded that, the most important part in the empowerment of this art is creativity and uniqueness. He said that this war of empowerment of Kangra miniature paintings will not end until we associate these artifacts with our real life. During the discussion, Dr. Akshai Runchal, President, KAPS highlighted many special achievements of the NGO.
